Milwaukee Brewers Data According to www.fangraphs.com
The Milwaukee Brewers are entering a season of change. For the team and franchise, there seems to be a “youth movement afoot”, especially with the positional players and hitters on the team.
The team also moved on from manager Craig Counsel- or he moved on from them. Depending on who you believe.
So what, ultimately, can fans expect this season?
What are the Brewers playoff chances?
Playoff Odds According to Fangraphs.com
The Brewers have a 31.1% chance to make the playoffs according to www.fangraphs.com Also according to FanGraphs the Brewers have a less than 1% chance of winning the World Series.
(So you’re saying there is still a chance!)
The Atlanta Braves, according to FanGraphs, have the best chance to win the World Series (25.1%). The Braves, according to FanGraphs, also have the best shot to make the playoffs at 98%.
The team with the worst chance to win the MLB World Series is the Colorado Rockies (.01%). The Washington Nationals are also right there- (.02%).
In the NL Central the Cardinals have a 50/50 shot at making the playoffs while the Cubs have a 41% chance to advance to the postseason.
For both of those teams, if they can figure out their respective offenses, you’d have to think they might have a chance.

Can the Brewers See an Improved Offense?
Where was the team, statistically, in terms of team offense last season
Milwaukee was ranked eighth to last in team batting average .240. The Brewers did not have many hits on the year. They did not have many total hits (1290). The Braves lead the league in total hits with 1574. The Oakland Athletics were last in total hits with 1187.
The Brewers only had 16 triples on the year.
The Brewers were below the league average in the MLB with 165 home runs.
If Milwaukee is going to compete this season, their offense is going to have to be better. Losing Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff is going to put pressure on this pitching rotation. The offense, which will be young and will feature Jackson Chourio and Rhys Hoskins now, needs to score runs.
Milwaukee averaged 4 ½ runs a game.
Milwaukee’s pitching staff was the best in the Major Leagues in only allowing 3.99 runs a game. No other team kept their opponents to under 4 runs a game.
The Brewers and their pitchers also gave up the least amount of runs in the majors: 647. That is an awesomely low number.
The Milwaukee Brewers open their season on the road against the Mets on March 28th. The first pitch should be around 12:10.
