The Milwaukee Brewers announced via Twitter on Tuesday that RHP Trevor Megill was placed on the paternity list, and RHP Colin Rea was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.

Megill was acquired by the Brewers back in April and has mainly been making relief appearances. He has made some appearances as a starter though with Milwaukee, two of them.
He last started in the Brewers’ 7-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. He only pitched one inning and allowed two runs on three hits before being pulled. He also made a start near the beginning of September where he again went one inning and struck out one.

Colin Rea was just recently optioned back to Triple-A Nashville after Julio Teheran was reinstated from the injured list. But, with Megill going on the paternity list and the Nashville Sounds’ season being over, it seems like it was the right call to move Rea back up to the major leagues.
Rea would come on in the second inning in relief for Megill against the Cardinals and would be out until the sixth. He allowed one home run, walked three, and struck out two.
The Brewers take on the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night starting at 6:40PM CST where they will hope to clinch the NL Central division title with a win over the Birds or a Chicago Cubs loss.
