Two Packers starters will not play against the Titans
The Green Bay Packers are trying to get healthy in a short week before they play the Tennessee Titans Thursday. The Packers have been battling severe injuries on both sides of the ball all season. The team announced Wednesday afternoon that two Packers starters were questionable to play against the Titans.
According to a statement by the Packers, offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are questionable to play Thursday night. The Packers ruled out wide receiver Romeo Doubs and linebacker De’Vondre Campbell. Packers cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles is doubtful to play against the Titans.
Jenkins and Bakhtiari have been questionable up until game time for much of the season. Head coach Matt LaFleur has said Bakhtiari’s situation would be fluid all season, so his designation isn’t too much of a surprise.
Doubs and Campbell being out is a concern
The Packers are starting to get a little healthier at the wide receiver position. The Packers added Randall Cobb to their walkthrough practices this week. However, Doubs could add more depth to the position. The Packers rookie seemed to have a good rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers was able to find another rookie, Christian Watson, available for three touchdown passes against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
Campbell is a big miss for the Packers’ defense. The unit has been up and all with its performance all season. Defensive coordinator Joe Barry said Monday that he wasn’t happy with the Packers’ ability to stop the Cowboys from running the ball last week. Campbell’s absence won’t help that cause against the Titans’ scary rushing attack. The Packers signed a linebacker to the practice squad this week as the team needed to add bodies to the defense.
