According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Portland Blazers star Damian Lillard has just been traded to the Bucks in a three team trade.
This obviously makes the Bucks a title favorite right? Of course it does, however it’s worth noting what they gave up for Lillard in the process.
Jrue Holiday and some change for Lillard:
Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, and a 2029 unprotected first is all the Bucks gave up for Lillard.
Losing Jrue’s defense might not be the best thing, but given how deep Milwaukee is on that side of the floor, the pros surely outweigh the cons.
How the heck did this even happen?
Magic, more specifically the magic of an unpredictable NBA trade market as well as NBA superstars getting what they want.
At least, most of what they want that is, as Dame did want to be a Miami Heat for the longest.
It’s interesting how it went from Miami being the favorite to get Dame, to Toronto, and now randomly this deal comes seemingly out of thin air.
Just goes to show you how dedicated the Bucks are to helping Giannis win another one.
Wait, isn’t Dame just going to ask for a Miami trade anyways?
While reports might suggest as such, there’s one critical thing to note here.
The Bucks, as well as other non-heat contenders in general, weren’t in the trade talks for him at the time of that report.
We will have to wait and see, but given how good this pairing between him and Giannis is on paper however, there is no reason for Bucks fans to be alarmed at all for now.
