Crazy eyes are coming back to the Bucks to run it back with the team that helped him win a title. Bobby Portis stays home!! Bobby Portis who recently opted out of his 2nd year of the orignal 2 year deal with the Bucks decided he wanted to call Fiserv Forum home for at least one more season.
Breaking Down the Contract
The Bucks not only resigned Portis to a 2 year $9M deal that seems like a huge discount for this team, considering how many people believed Portis could get nearly $10M per season. And considering Torrey Craig, Kelly Olynyk, and Moe Harkless all making more money then him. More importantly Portis not only gave a discount but also made it possible for the Bucks to continue adding pieces by signing using his Non-Bird rights. Essentially in basic it turns it allows the Bucks more flexibility and money to pursue players.
What Portis Brings
Bobby Portis brings a possible spot starter, and fortified bench player. He can average over 20 mins a game while averaging over 11 points, and 7 rebounds a game last season. He also brings a guy who brings a lot of energy to this team on both ends of the floor, and over 50 shooting from 3.
