The Green Bay Packers have placed wide receiver Allen Lazard on the reserve/COVID-19 list. This news comes after Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry and all-pro wide receiver Davante Adams both tested positive for the disease earlier this week.
Lazard was placed on the list as a close contact to Adams. All indications show that he is not vaccinated, meaning he will have to quarantine for five days, per NFL protocols. Lazard will miss Thursday’s game against the Cardinals.
Lazard was primed for a big game in Phoenix in Adams’s absence. One of Lazard’s best games of his career came last year while Adams was sidelined with an injury. Lazard caught six passes for 146 yards and a touchdown against the Saints, leading the Packers to a victory.
If Marquez Valdes-Scantling does not play on Thursday due to his hamstring injury, Green Bay could be without their top three wide receivers against the undefeated Cardinals. Though unlikely, Adams could be available if he produces two negative tests by Wednesday.
