After the Wisconsin Badgers fired head coach Paul Chryst, many fans wanted interim head coach Jim Leonhard to get the job full time. Many Badgers players wanted that as well. However, Wisconsin deviated from the norm and hired Luke Fickell away from the University of Cincinnati. As a result, many players from the 2022 Badgers team have entered the transfer portal, including quarterback Graham Mertz.

The decision by Mertz to transfer came after several discussions with Coach Fickell. In a recent interview, Fickell said he encouraged Mertz to stay, but understood his decision.
A Report Was Posted Saying Braelon Allen Had Entered the Transfer Portal
Early on Monday, an organization called Sidelines Sports Network posted the following Tweet about Braelon Allen:
Former 4 ⭐️ Braelon Allen is in the portal from Wisconsin. Schools to watch are: Notre Dame, Michigan, & Texas pic.twitter.com/49EvFuVCvC
— Sidelines Sports Network™ (@Sidelines_SN) December 5, 2022
This was met with a flurry of blowback from Badgers fans, as there has been no other report of his intentions. After a few hours, the network responded to their post with this:
Update: Allen has not officially entered the portal as of noon today but is not expected to remain at Wisconsin
— Sidelines Sports Network™ (@Sidelines_SN) December 5, 2022
Six hours after their last post on the matter, Badgers running back Braelon Allen himself Tweeted the following:
Sources this sources that 😂 if I didn’t tell you don’t say it.
— Braelon Allen (@BraelonAllen) December 5, 2022
To be clear, this post by Allen is not a commitment to staying at Wisconsin. It also is not an indication that he is leaving. The fact of the matter is that we do not know what Allen will decide to do. Perhaps he does not even know yet. What we do know is that the Wisconsin Badgers will be playing in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl Game on December 27. We also know that next year’s team will look very different than this year’s team. Whether or not Allen will be on it remains to be seen.

I thing it’s sick to be pushing so hard for a new coach to fail. Why are all these people decomitting from Wisconsin? Must be a reason other then a new coaching staff?
Huge mistake, however I wouldn’t blame him for leaving, what an insult by UW. So disgusted with their abrupt decisions, his talent, heart & dedication can’t be replaced. So frustrated with UW AD & front office!!!!
