The Badger volleyball team was given the top seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament during Sunday’s selection show. With this seed, the undefeated, Big Ten champion Badgers earned a first round bye and will open play in the second round of the tournament on April 15. Their first game is set to start at 6 p.m., and UW will face the winner of Bowling Green and Weber State.
Wisconsin began the preseason ranked number one and has held the top spot throughout the season. UW has played a limited number of matches this season because of COVID-19 issues. However, they are still heavy favorites to win the national title. The Badgers have played in the best conference all year, preparing them well for tough tournament matches. Three of the top five seeds in the tournament are Big Ten teams. Minnesota was given the third overall seed and Nebraska was given the fifth.
One may be the loneliest number…but this year it's our favorite. #RoadToOmaha || @Kohls pic.twitter.com/DVZ0Ejs73I

This year’s tournament is a little different than in the past. All games are being held at CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, Nebraska due to coronavirus concerns. In addition, only 48 teams made the field instead of the traditional 64.
We will continue to cover Wisconsin’s quest for a national title over the next few weeks. Stay tuned, Badger volleyball fans!
