The Chicago Cubs, who once were the biggest threat to the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central division, have fallen to eight games back (entering play on Friday, September 22) and are currently closer to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the standings than the Brewers.  They do have a half game lead over the Cincinnati Reds for second place in the division, but are tied with the Miami Marlins for the final Wild Card spot. The Milwaukee Brewers added three batters to their lineup this summer and all have provided positive impacts.  Carlos Santana and Mark Canha were acquired prior to the trade deadline and Josh Donaldson was signed after being released by the New York Yankees.
