The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to Cleveland to play the American League’s top team, the Cleveland Indians. The Indians currently sit with a 0.5 game lead over the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central. This three game series will be part of a six-game home stand for the Indians before they face the Royals next week. A lot of credit for the Indians’ first place title can be given to their pitching; they’re hitting .229 as a team and their team OPS is .697, not far from the Brewers’ .683. What’s upsetting is Milwaukee Brewers fans didn’t get the chance to attend one more game at Miller Park before the big name change. We’re coming up on the final months of Miller Park being known as its infamous name before making the big change to American Family Field in January of 2021. A disappointing loss for the Brewers last night against the Pittsburgh Pirates should be the fuel for tonight’s game.  It’s trade deadline day, everyone’s on the edge of their seats and the Brewers are looking to take three out of four games against the Pirates. After only one run coming in yesterday from Keston Hiura on an RBI-single, the fans are hoping the Brewers’ bats can come alive once again tonight.  With the doubleheader occurring earlier this week, the Brewers didn’t have another starting pitcher to bring into the rotation for tonight’s game. Shortly before the trade deadline on Monday, it was announced that the Milwaukee Brewers would be trading reliever David Phelps to the Philadelphia Phillies. According to multiple sources, the Phillies are sending three low-level prospects for the strong reliever.  Phelps’ Career Phelps, only 33, has a 2.77 ERA and 0.69 WHIP in his 12 appearances with the crew this season. In 13 innings of work, he’s struck out 20 and only walked two. In 171 appearances since 2016, Phelps has a 2.85 ERA. After nearly giving all Milwaukee Brewers fans a heart attack, the Brewers come out on top and win 7-6 via an Eric Sogard walk-off 2-run homer. Yup, you read that right. Eric Sogard walked it off for the Brewers tonight. It was very back and forth with the Brewers as they faced the Pittsburgh Pirates in game two. It was a rough day for the Milwaukee Brewers, to put it in the nicest terms. After the bats went silent on Friday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, it didn’t seem like they were going to do much going into Saturday’s game. Fans had hope, but in the end, the hope was crushed. After an almost embarrassing loss last night to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Brewers are looking to reclaim themselves and bring a win in today’s matinee game.  Starting Pitching Josh Lindblom is scheduled to take the mound today for the Brewers.
