The Milwaukee Bucks started off the 2023-24 NBA season with a thrilling 118-117 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. For the first time, Bucks fans (and basketball fans in general) were treated to watching Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo play together on the same team in a meaningful basketball game (they were previously teammates in the 2023 Kia NBA All-Star Game). Dame Time arrived in spectacular fashion for the Milwaukee Bucks in their first game of the 2023-24 NBA regular season. Milwaukee led for most of the game, though the Philadelphia 76ers took a brief eight-point lead in the fourth quarter. In end, though, Damian Lillard proved to be too much, erupting for 14 points in the game’s final four minutes to give Milwaukee the 118-117 win. It was truly a game of firsts for the Bucks. The Green Bay Packers are just 2-4 and have lost three consecutive games. While there are a plethora of reasons for their most recent struggles, injuries to the team have not helped. In their Week Seven loss to the Denver Broncos, running back Aaron Jones returned to the field for extended usage for the first time since Week One. The Green Bay Packers are heading into Week Eight at 2-4. While there have been many reasons for the team’s poor start, injuries to important players have not helped matters. Green Bay Packers fans are not missing Mason Crosby as much as they thought they would going into the 2023 NFL season. While rookie kicker Anders Carlson had a rocky preseason and missed a field goal try on Sunday, he has been otherwise dependable, making 8/9 field goal attempts and all of his extra point attempts. He has already made two 50+ yard field goals on the season, surpassing Crosby’s total from last season. When the Milwaukee Bucks traded for Damian Lillard, the most noteworthy player they sent in return was Jrue Holiday. Holiday was subsequently traded by the Portland Trailblazers to the Boston Celtics, and much of the discourse has been centered around Milwaukee and Boston as the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.
