The Green Bay Packers got some surprising news this week. There is one former NFC North rival wide receiver who will no longer be in the league.
Former Green Bay Packers’ NFC North Rival Announces Retirement

Very few individuals have the opportunity to play in the NFL. For former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Albert Wilson, he got to spend eight years in the league and play with some of the best players in the world.
Wilson was an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft. The Georgia State wide receiver was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs and spent four years there before shifting to the Miami Dolphins in 2018.
He was only with the Vikings for three months from July to August in 2022. Following his release, he joined the Raiders’ practice squad. Wilson did not see regular-season action with Minnesota or Las Vegas.
Albert Wilson gained attention in the league for accumulating 1,544 receiving yards on 124 catches and grabbing seven touchdowns in four years with Kansas City. He was solid for the Dolphins as well, catching 94 passes for 955 yards and five touchdowns in three seasons.
Wilson’s retirement from football came on May 10, 2024, but he maintains his Albert Wilson Foundation to stress that “every child deserves a home” and “every child deserves a chance” and hosted a Life Skills & Leadership Day to help youth prepare for the future.
