The Wisconsin women’s hockey team played against Minnesota State Saturday night after winning the first game in the series. The Badgers looked to close out the best-of-three and advance to the WCHA playoff semi-finals with a win. Wisconsin was able to do just that, walking away with a 4-1 victory despite being down in the first period. The #10 ranked Marquette Golden Eagles (23-6, 15-3) took on the visiting DePaul Blue Demons (9-20, 3-15) for Marquette’s Gold Out game. The Golden Eagles got out to a big lead early and held on after the Blue Demons turned up their production in the second half. The Marquette basketball team pulled off an incredible win in Nebraska the other night against the #19 Creighton Bluejays. The two teams met in Milwaukee in December, where Marquette also walked away with the 69-58 win over one of the toughest conference opponents. The now #10 ranked Golden Eagles will face DePaul, Butler, and St. John’s before the start of the Big East Tournament.
