The Marquette Golden Eagles have defeated the St. John’s Red Storm, 72-70, in overtime during the Big East quarterfinal. Marquette was down by 10 points at halftime, but managed to take the Red Storm into overtime with an incredible second half of basketball. The Golden Eagles will now advance to the semifinal of the Big East conference tournament. The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team (17-14) lost a close game in the first round of the Big Ten tournament. Wisconsin Badgers fans did not take the loss lightly on social media. The Ohio State Buckeyes (14-18) proved to be too much for the Badgers, who struggled the majority of the game. Wisconsin certainly had their chances in a tough game. Unfortunately, the offense slowed down in the first half, and the second half comeback was not enough to overtake the Buckeyes. The Big Ten Championships for wrestling took place March fourth through fifth as the Wisconsin Badgers look to make their mark. As a team, the Badgers have earned five NCAA Championship qualifications so far, along with dominance on one podium. The #6 Marquette Golden Eagles (25-6) faced off against the St. John’s Red Storm (17-14) on Saturday in the regular season finale for each team.
