Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been the center of off-season talk in 2023. As we await Aaron Rodgers’ decision, the odds for where he may play in 2023 have been going wild. Overnight the odds took another turn that saw teams drastically increase and decrease. Here is the latest update by DraftKings Sportsbook.
Aaron Rodgers Odds Take Massive Turn Overnight
In new odds that were live on Saturday morning, the Las Vegas Raiders remain the favorite at -350. The Packers’ odds decreased from +175 on Friday to +225 this morning. The Jets, who were practically a coin flip to land with the Packers a couple of weeks ago, previously fell to +600 but closed to +450 in the most recent update. The Washington Commanders and Indianapolis Colts are two teams who’ve been hanging back in the odds. Their odds both fell to +1800 in the latest update
Talking in percentage terms, the Raiders are at 77.8% to land Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are sitting at 30.8% and the Jets are at 18.2%. The Commanders, Buccaneers, and Colts are 5.3%. Why all of these shifts? Draft Kings director Johnny Avello had this to say:
“We put them up based on the information that we know, and that’s social media, any stories out there. We’re scouring for it constantly. We’ll move it on different stories, we’ll move it on bets.
“The Packers opened up a small favorite and the Jets were close behind. Now, all of a sudden, the Raiders are getting this monster push on bets and chatter. So, they’re a pretty good-sized favorite at -350, which is put up $350 to win $100. That’s a prohibitive favorite.”
When talking about Davante Adams recruiting Aaron Rodgers: “If he wants him, he’s probably talking to the front office, also. We have to react to that,” Avello said. “It’s not like we’re not going to make some crazy move off of that, but we do have to react. We have to watch anything out there that’s going to swing things toward a certain team.”
If the Green Bay Packers end up trading Rodgers, the Love era in Green Bay would officially be underway. Jordan Love has made it clear he wants to play in 2023. Over the past couple of years, Love has showcased a great work ethic and a much-improved game. He showed this season in the limited time that he has the potential of being a very good quarterback. In order to continue developing, Love needs to get on the field and play meaningful snaps on a consistent basis.
