The Green Bay Packers and their fans got used to Aaron Rodgers not showing up for offseason activities. Last season, many fans and some analysts blamed the team’s poor offensive production on the fact that Rodgers refused to report for offseason activities to work with the rookie wide receivers. This week, the Packers, the New York Jets, and every other NFL team has started their organized team offseason activities. Jordan Love is in Green Bay; Rodgers, who has yet to be traded, is presumably at home in California. Not that it matters too much. Rodgers told the Jets he would not be showing up in April anyway.
Aaron Rodgers Told the New York Jets He Was Not Planning to Show Up Until May

The Pat McAfee Show, of course, has been a central player in this ongoing saga. It was where Rodgers first told the public that he was committed to playing for the New York Jets in 2023. It was also where he said he entered the darkness retreat 90% retired. Last week, ESPN analyst and super Jets fan Mike Greenberg was on the show and revealed what he has heard regarding when Rodgers intends to show up for the Jets:
““I’ve heard that [Rodgers] has sent signals to the Jets that there is no reason for them to rush, that he’s not coming until May anyway so they’re not missing out on anything right now. So they should hold out as long as it takes and that ultimately they won’t wind up having to trade the No. 13 pick in the draft, which is what I think this ultimately comes down to.”
It sure would have been nice to have seen Rodgers in Green Bay last May. That would have meant he was committed to helping his young wide receivers be as successful as possible. Of course, that did not happen. It appears, though, that he is more than willing to show up early (by his standards) to get to know his new teammates in New York. That is the smart move for him, but it is nonetheless frustrating for fans that have wanted him to show his total commitment to them in recent seasons.

What a JACK A$$! The Packers gave him all that cash and addressed as many of his other desires as best they could last year and now he is drawing a knife and shoving it into their backs! Good luck Jets, this is the kind of character your new leader has. Good luck Rogers you POS! Don’t let the door it you in the a$$ on the way out!
Rodgers told the Jets not to worry. He will be in New Jersey to be ready for week 5 of the season.
Roger’s can’t show up in New York until he’s released by the Packers. Plus the trade isn’t even finalized yet.
