Aaron Rodgers talks about a Lions player
Aaron Rodgers has a good memory. That’s part of what makes him an elite quarterback. He remembers Green Bay Packers players long after they’ve left the team. Earlier this week, Rodgers talked about a former Packers player who’s currently on the Detroit Lions.
Jamaal Williams caught the attention of Matt LaFleur this week before Packers take on the Lions. In Wednesday’s press conference, LaFleur talked about Williams and what he means to the Lions team. He thinks the running back is “severely underrated.” He’s not the only Packer with good things to say about Williams.
According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Rodgers had high praise for Williams as a teammate with the Packers:
“I’m a hugger, so if I see Jamaal, I’m giving him a hug. I love Jamaal. He’s one of my all-time favorites. He’s one of the happiest teammates we’ve ever had, one of the greatest guys in the locker room that I’ve been able to work with.”

The Packers drafted Williams in the fourth round of the 2017 draft. The BYU product played with the team through the 2020 season. Williams signed a two-year deal with the Lions in 2021. On Sunday, Williams will face off against the Packers for a game-deciding the final Wild Card slot in the NFC. He’ll do so after a hot week in a thumping of the Chicago Bears when he ran for 144 yards on New Year’s Day.
