The Green Bay Packers Week 6 injury report includes a top defender
Reports of bad news came out Thursday about the injury status of one of the Green Bay Packers’ best defenders this season. Their sack leader, Rashan Gary, was placed on the Week 6 injury report. Gary is dealing with a toe injury as the Packers get ready to play the New York Jets this Sunday.
Head coach Matt LaFleur addressed the media Friday before the Packers’ practice. According to Ryan Wood with USA Today, LaFleur said he’s a “little bit concerned” about Gary’s injury. LaFleur knows what Gary means to the Packers’ defense.
“The guy is pretty impactful when he’s out on the grass. Certainly, he’s a guy we want in there, and when he’s not in there I think you can feel the effects of that,” LaFleur said.
Matt LaFleur is "little bit concerned" about Rashan Gary's toe. He likes #Packers OLB depth, but no replacing Gary. "The guy is pretty impactful when he's out on the grass. Certainly he's a guy we want in there, and when he's not in there I think you can feel the affects of that"

Gary needs to be at 100 percent for this defense
This is a frustrating development for the Packers. Following last Sunday’s loss in London, the Packers desperately need a win in Week 6 to stay with the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional race. Gary is the team’s sack leader for the 2022 season. His absence would be a significant problem for the Packers as they rely on the pass rush. Defensive coordinator Joe Barry talked in Thursday’s press conference about needing to get a good pass rush to help with the coverage scheme he uses.
