The Packers are looking to bounce back against the Jets this week. Throughout the season they have dealt with injuries to key players and it looks like this week is no different. Packers star defensive player Rashan Gary is dealing with a toe injury and was limited in practice today.

While he was at practice today he was a limited participant. The exact nature of the injury is unknown. For a team that is trying to bounce back, having their best defensive player on the field is a must. While the defense as a whole has been disappointing this season, Gary has been a monster on defense. He has had 5 sacks this season and countless pressures on the quarterback. He also draws a lot of attention making the lives of Preston Smith and Kenny Clark easier.
Something To Watch This Week
The good news is that it is only Thursday and he is still practicing. The problem is the variance of toe injuries. Some are minor and can be healed with rest whereas some are extremely painful and can keep a player sidelined for weeks. Hopefully it is the former for Gary. If he cannot go, more pressure will be put on the rest of the defense to step up. Tomorrow’s press conferences and practice should give us more insight into exactly what is going on with Rashan Gary.
The Packers really need a bounce back week. Losing to the Giants and Jets in back to back weeks, no matter how improved, would not look good. The hope is that the limited participation in practice can help Gary heal and that he can be on the field in some capacity on Sunday against the Jets. If not, the rest of the team is going to have to dig deep and win in his absence.
