Mock drafts are always fun because you can play around with “what if” scenarios. However we have learned this off-season that even some of the wildest trades can happen in real life. This draft would set up Green Bay with wide receivers for the future and for now. Here we go:
Round 1 – Pick #6 Via Trade: WR Drake London (USC)
(It’s a twitter thread, scroll past the Kevin Thibodeaux video)
13. Drake London
– Excellent size and length for his position
– Great hands with incredible catching range, knows how to use his big frame to make the catch in traffic
– Good overall route running and knows how to keep CB’s off balance
– Makes life easier for his QB pic.twitter.com/s92KljqqSV

Drake London is a phenomenal talent and makes a lot of sense for a down field threat in Green Bay’s offense. The 6′ 5″ 209 pound wide receiver is widely projected to go in the top 5-10. Green Bay would snag him before anyone else would think to.
Carolina Panthers receive:
- Pick #22 in 2022 NFL Draft
- Pick #92 in 2022 NFL Draft (3rd Round)
- QB Jordan Love
Green Bay receives:
- Pick #6 in 2022 NFL Draft
- Pick #137 in 2022 NFL Draft (4th round)
This draft is NOT a QB heavy draft whatsoever. Sell Carolina on Jordan Love, take the high pick to take your receiver of the future.
Round 1 – Pick #28: WR Jahan Dotson (Penn State)
The pass catching portion of Jahan Dotson’s pro day could not have gone better.

Dotson kind of plays like Marvin Harrison did; he’s undersized but has tremendous speed and soft hands. The Packers need a possession receiver. Dotson caught 91 passes last season at Penn State. He also had only two drops on 142 targets and should be able to gain 12’s trust quickly. With Matt Lafleur’s recent comments about needing speed on offense, Dotson is your man.
Round 2 – Pick #53: OT Daniel Faalele (Minnesota)
Daniel Faalele measured at 6-foot-8, 387 pounds at the Senior Bowl. Depending on which scout you speak to, he’s anywhere from a high-upside first-rounder to a late-Day 2 project. His physical tools are undeniable and he’s new to the position (and football), and once he puts it altogether he could be special. With the work that Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich did last year with the offensive line, Faalele would be in great hands. This could solidify Green Bay’s right tackle position for years. With Billy Turner released, it would be the perfect time.
Round 2 – Pick #59: *TRADE for Steelers WR Diontae Johnson
Green Bay receives:
- WR Diontae Johnson
Pittsburgh receives:
- Pick #59 in 2022 NFL Draft
Pittsburgh is headed for a rebuild following Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement. Diontae Johnson is entering a contract year in 2022. Paying Johnson what he would be asking for doesn’t line up with what the Steelers are trying to do. Pittsburgh used a third-round pick to select Johnson in 2019. To receive a second-rounder three years later is good business.
Johnson had 107 catches in 2021 and 88 in 2020. He’s outstanding at picking up yards after the catch. Last season, 527 of his 1,161 receiving yards came after the catch. He also picked up a first down on 59 of his 107 receptions. He would absolutely thrive in Matt Lafleur’s offense. Get him the ball and watch him make plays.
Round 3 – Pick #92: *Traded to Carolina
This type of draft would emphasize to Aaron Rodgers and the rest of Green Bay that they are taking wide receiver seriously. Going into the 2022 NFL season with Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Drake London, Jahan Dotson, and Diontae Johnson would be incredible. I would expect Green Bay to follow up this draft in the 4th and 5th rounds with offensive lineman and possible an EDGE rusher. Obtaining depth at those positions will be vital this off-season. However this offense would put this team on another level.
