On January 3rd former Oklahoma QB and 5 star recruit Caleb Williams entered the transfer portal. It was immediately thought that his top two options were USC or LSU. As of late Wisconsin has emerged as a serious contender to land the former 5 star recruit. Here is why he would be the perfect fit for Wisconsin, and Wisconsin would be a perfect fit for him.

The pro-style offense would be perfect:
Wisconsin’s program has been begging for a legitimate Quarterback to come along ever since Russel Wilson was drafted in 2012. When you think about the dream team for a Quarterback in the NFL you think of a stout running game to take pressure off the passing game, you think about a top defense, and you think about an offensive line that will protect your health. These are all phases of the game that Wisconsin has identified themselves in perfecting for decades.
Russel Wilson is the perfect example as to what Caleb Williams could become at Wisconsin. In 2011 Russel Wilson completed over 72% of his passes, 3,175 yards, 33 Touchdowns, and only 4 Interceptions. He added 338 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns on top of that. Russel Wilson was a mobile quarterback who thrived throwing outside of the pocket and on the run. He also relied on a stout defense that allowed 17 or fewer points in 10 of their 14 games. His backfield consisted of Melvin Gordon and James White, two NFL caliber RBs.

All of these pieces are similar to what Caleb Williams would be walking into in 2022-23. Williams is a mobile Quarterback who thrives on throwing outside of the pocket and on the run. Wisconsin’s defense was ranked #1 in the Nation in 2021-22 allowing just 239 yards of offense per game, and he’ll have Braelon Allen and Chez Melusi to hand the ball off to. Caleb Williams would be walking into the exact situation that Quarterbacks dream of.

• 1268 rush yards
• 6.8 yard average
• 12 touchdownsAll at 17 years old. #FutureIsBright #OnWisconsin #RBU @BraelonAllen pic.twitter.com/RNmNjTXrln

Wisconsin is heading in a new offensive direction:
Wisconsin is well aware that their offense has been stagnant as of late, bringing in some fresh blood to revitalize this offense is exactly what we need. The current Ravens’ TE coach would do exactly that, especially with a mobile QB like Williams.
#Wisconsin is targeting Baltimore Ravens tight ends coach Bobby Engram to be its next offensive coordinator, sources tell me and @jamisonhensley. An agreement could be finalized soon.
Engram worked on Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst's staff at Pitt in 2012 and 2013.

In conclusion:
Wisconsin will not only set up Caleb Williams with the best possible transition from college to the pros, but he will have a legitimate chance to change a conference title. The B1G 10 champion is almost guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, can’t say the same about the PAC 12 (cough cough USC).
