A slight change happened for one linebacker in the 2024 class, with Drew Braam committing to the Wisconsin Badgers. The Wisconsin native was originally committed to South Dakota State but decided to change uniforms on Tuesday. Braam announced the commitment on his social media account.
I am extremely blessed to announce that I will be committing to The University of Wisconsin. #OnWisconsin 🔴⚪️@_maximus347 @CoachMikeTress @CoachFick pic.twitter.com/Yh4ZTykzvG

A Walk On for the Wisconsin Badgers
While Drew Braam, a two-star recruit hailing from Wisconsin, joins good company as a walk-on for the Wisconsin Badgers. He isn’t nationally recognized, but in-state, he is ranked 25th and will get the chance to prove himself with the Badgers.
Braam turned down offers from Miami (OH), Lindenwood, South Dakota State, and Eastern Illinois. He will join the likes of Jim Leonhard, Mark Tauscher, and current NFL star TJ Watt as walk-ons for the Wisconsin Badgers.
“It was a super hard decision,” Braam said. “I love everything about South Dakota State, and I appreciate everything they did for me. Coach (Jesse) Bobbitt, Coach (Jimmy) Rogers, and the whole SDSU staff were amazing to me and my family, and I’ll never forget that.”
He visited Madison twice this season and most recently during the game against Iowa this past weekend. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker recently broke the Oak Creek High School record for career tackles, making him a promising addition to the Badgers.
Drew Braam having a big night as usual! Stuffs the run here and then gets a QB pressure that forces an Interception! Brady Giuli with the pick. Knights with the ball. 1:36 remaining in the 3rd quarter! pic.twitter.com/Us6PEn25jh

Big game last night for the Knights Dline, Oline, and big individual numbers. Drew Braam 17 tackles, Jackson Phelps 192 yds rushing – 5 Touchdowns. Great Team win. Now, onto the Playoffs. It’s always interesting to see where we get seeded. pic.twitter.com/Y6LqXTwuUX

Braam will join Landon Gauthier as another linebacker in 2024 who’s committed to the Badgers. He also joins another preferred walk-on commit in Milos Spasojevic, a quarterback.
