The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets have become all too familiar with each other this past off-season. Of course, the Aaron Rodgers trade highlighted the connection between the two franchises. However, the Jets choosing to sign many former Packers players as well as their former offensive coordinator only solidified the connection.
Through the first five weeks of the 2023 season the Jets and Packers both sit at 2-3. The Jets are reportedly considering listening to offers for one of their starting wide receivers after the first quarter of the season.
The New York Jets Are Reportedly Shopping Starting Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman
The Jets currently don’t have a place for wide receiver Mecole Hardman in their starting lineup, now he may not even be on the Jets’ team.
The Jets are reportedly exploring trade options for Hardman, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Despite signing with the Jets as a free agent this offseason, he was inactive in Sunday’s win over the Broncos and has one catch on 22 offensive snaps all year.
After being a free agent, Hardman signed a one-year deal worth $4 million with the Jets this past off-season.
Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Xavier Gipson, and Irv Charles were the active Jets receivers in Denver.
Would The Green Bay Packers Be Interested In Trading For Mecole Hardman?
With Hardman’s relatively small contract combined with his lack of production so far this season, it seemingly wouldn’t take much to lure him away from the Jets.
Prior to Hardman’s signing with the Jets, the Packers were listed as one of the best fits for the 25-year-old wide receiver. Hardman is a dangerous weapon near the line of scrimmage. His ability to run after the catch would help Jordan Love and this offense tremendously.
Hardman played in only eight regular-season games in 2022 due to an abdomen injury. Hardman was limited to 25 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns last season after a career-best season in 2021. This season has seen Hardman buried by the depth chart in New York. A change of scenery could be good for the explosive wide receiver.

love can not throw deep ball accunt , time to put in second QB. if stay with love bye bye head coach and others
Trading for Mecole Hardmanmake would be a bad / stupid thing to do. There is no need for a mediocre receiver. If they were to go through the trouble of acquiring a receiver Cortland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy makes logical sense.
The Jets are desperate for a tackle
throw Bakhtiari into the deal and watch him make a miraculous recovery.
