3 Impressive Packers Records All Fans Should Know
Most Championships
Even though the Green Bay Packers haven’t won a title in a while, they still have the most championships in the history of the NFL. While the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots have both won six Super Bowls, the Green Bay Packers have a combined 13 championships when you include the NFL championships won prior to the 1966 season.
Green Bay won nine of those and added an additional four Lombardi Trophies for good measure. Ironically, their two most recent Super Bowl victories came against the Steelers and Patriots – the two teams tied for the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history. The San Francisco 49ers could tie these two organizations if they take down the Kansas City Chiefs in the upcoming Super Bowl.
Most MVP’s in NFL History
The Green Bay Packers have perhaps the most storied group of quarterbacks in NFL history, so it’s no surprise that they have the most MVP winners of any NFL team. Aaron Rodgers is the most recent winner, as he took home the honors in 2011, 2014, 2020, and 2021, joining Peyton Manning as the only players to win the award four or more times. If Rodgers wants to catch Manning, he’ll need to win another MVP with the New York Jets.
Of course, Rodgers is not alone. Brett Favre won three consecutive MVP’s from 1995 to 1997, while Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, and Paul Hornung all earned the award back in the earlier days of the NFL. These Packers records are surely going to stand the test of time.
Most Wins in NFL History
The NFL is all about winning, and nobody does it better than the Green Bay Packers. Since entering the league, the team has recorded a staggering 799 wins, narrowly beating out the division rival Chicago Bears (793) for most in NFL history and setting one of the greatest of NFL and Packers records. However, while the Bears have 634 losses to their name, the Packers only have 598. Basically, this team has played fewer games than Chicago but still holds the all-time wins record.
No matter when you were born, there is a good chance Packers fans have personally witnessed greatness. Even though they are in the midst of a title drought, Green Bay has still provided some of the best stretch of play any fan will ever watch. Jordan Love had a promising first season under center. Now, it’s his time to step up and be the next great quarterback in the history of this stellar franchise.
