2023 Big Ten Football Odds: Wisconsin Badgers Projection

The Wisconsin Badgers Football program hopes to have a better season in 2023 than it did in 2022. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, they will have the fourth-best Big Ten Football odds. The last time Wisconsin won that conference in football was in 2012.

This conference has been dominated by the Michigan State Spartans, the Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Badgers have been in the Big Ten Championship Game a few times since 2012 but lost all of those meetings. Will they finally get back there, and who else is ranked ahead of them in the Big Ten Football odds?

2023 Big Ten Football Odds: Wisconsin Badgers Projection

Ohio State Buckeyes (+165)

The Ohio State Buckeyes have the best Big Ten Football odds this season. Ohio State has not won the Big Ten Conference the last two seasons, but only lost one game last season and almost took down the Georgia Bulldogs in the postseason. The Buckeyes will reload on offense.

They hope to be better on the defensive side of the football this season. It will be interesting to see what happens this season under head coach Ryan Day. They are also due to take down Michigan this season.

Michigan Wolverines (+185)

The Michigan Wolverines have the second-best Big Ten Football odds this season. Michigan has won the Big Ten Conference in back-to-back seasons under head coach Jim Harbaugh and has also made the College Football Playoff in both seasons but failed to reach the title game. The Wolverines have accomplished beating their arch-rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the last two seasons, but it feels like Michigan may take a step back this season because of the rise of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

There is talent back on both sides of the football. However, this could be one of those years where Michigan wins 10 games but doesn’t beat either Ohio State or Penn State.

Penn State Nittany Lions (+600)

The Penn State Nittany Lions have the third-best Big Ten Football odds this season on FanDuel Sportsbook. Penn State last won the conference in 2016, where they had Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley, before losing to the USC Trojans in the Rose Bowl. They dominated the Utah Utes in the Rose Bowl last season.

The Nittany Lions are projected to have several players go in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. This is the best-shot head coach James Franklin has of winning another Big Ten title and possibly the whole thing. Penn State will pivot from Sean Clifford to highly touted Drew Allar at quarterback.

Wisconsin Badgers (+800)

The Wisconsin Badgers have the fourth-best Big Ten Football odds this season. Wisconsin, to their advantage, plays in the Big Ten West and not the Big Ten East. They don’t have to deal with the gauntlet of facing the Buckeyes, the Wolverines, and the Nittany Lions. Yet, the Badgers always have to pay the price for it later.

The Wisconsin Badgers brought in Luke Fickell as their head coach. He was very successful with the University of Cincinnati and even led them to a College Football Playoff berth in 2021. Cincinnati will miss him, and this is the gain of the Wisconsin Badgers. It would be something if they won the conference in his first year as head coach, but they have some catching up to do. Wisconsin has always been a run-first team, and they need to be a pass-first team at some point. The Badgers’ defense will need to be very good to have a shot at the crown.
