2021-2022 Full Schedule.
With only ten days remaining until the Wisconsin Badgers start their men’s basketball season, they have a loaded 2021-2022 schedule this year. The Wisconsin Basketball schedule ranges from out-of-state tournaments, out-of-conference opponents, and of course, playing against teams from one of the best conferences in college basketball, the Big10.
Wisconsin fans had their first look at the team on October 17th, where the Badgers played their annual Red vs. White scrimmage at the Kohl Center. This gave Badger fans a real inside look at the new team this year and gave excitement to the fans who came to watch.
Non-Conference and Invitational.
Wisconsin starts their season on October 29th for an exhibition game versus the instate UW-Whitewater. Their official regular-season game, however, starts November 9th at home versus St. Francis Brooklyn. The Badgers then stay at home once again for their matchup versus Green Bay on November 12th.
The Big10 versus Big East cross-conference duel takes place November 15th, where the Badgers host a very talented Providence before Thanksgiving break.
During Thanksgiving, the Badgers will be taking a road trip for the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the Maui Invitational is being relocated to Hawaii’s “Ninth Island” of Las Vegas. The Badgers will be facing off against Texas A&M in the first round of the tournament. Other teams joining Wisconsin are Houston, Butler, Oregon, Saint Mary’s, Texas A&M, Chaminade, and Notre Dame.
Wisconsin will be hitting the road after the Maui Invitational, playing in Atlanta, Georgia, for the Big10 vs. ACC cross-conference matchup versus Georgia Tech. The Badgers continue more non-conference matchups featuring Marquette, Nicholls State, Morgan State, and Illinois State.
Conference Play
Wisconsin officially starts their conference play on December 8th at home versus Indiana. The Badges then continue their conference play by matching up against No. 17 Ohio State, No. 7 Purdue, Iowa, No. 21 Maryland, Northwestern, Michigan State, Nebraska, Minnesota, No. 11 Illinois, Penn State, Rutgers, and No. 6 Michigan. ‘
With the Big10 labeled the deepest and strongest conference in 2020-2021, the Badgers schedule is no joke. Wisconsin will be facing off against five ranked teams during conference play. Most of them will be a series of two as Wisconsin will be playing these teams once at home and once on the road.
Wisconsin finishes the year participating in the annual Big10 tournament. It is currently scheduled for March 9th in Indianapolis.
For now, the Badgers are focusing on their upcoming and opening exhibition matchup versus UW-Whitewater. Tip-off is set for 6 pm, October 29th.
