The Green Bay Packers had so much to worry about entering the 2023 season. They were not sure how life was going to be without Aaron Rodgers as the starting quarterback. Green Bay started the 2023 season 2-5 and they had some bumpy roads with quarterback Jordan Love.
Toward the end of the 2023 season, the Green Bay Packers finished with a 9-8 record and made the playoffs as the seventh seed in the NFC. Green Bay shocked the world by beating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round. During the NFC Divisional Round, the Packers gave the San Francisco 49ers everything they could handle but lost that game.
The Green Bay Packers hope they can get to the Super Bowl this season. Green Bay will be in a very tough NFC North division with the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.
Pro Football Focus Gives Its Main Reason Why the Green Bay Packers Should Be Optimistic Heading Into the 2024 Season
Pro Football Focus listed one reason for each team as to why they should be optimistic entering the 2024 NFL season. Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus said about why the Green Bay Packers should be optimistic entering this season:
“Jordan Love is just getting started
One of the biggest stories down the stretch of the 2023 season was the rapid ascent of Jordan Love’s production. Through Week 8, Love ranked 24th in the league in passing grade and was tied for second in interceptions. From Week 9 through the end of the year, he led the NFL with a 90.7 passing grade and tied for second with 28 big-time throws.
Love’s elite production coincided with the development of young weapons like Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. The Packers will also hope for the healthy return of Christian Watson, which would give the team arguably the deepest receiving corps in the NFL. If new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley can improve his side of the team, there’s no telling what the ceiling will be for Jordan Love and the Packers.”
Jordan Love claimed the other day for the Green Bay Packers about how it feels better for this offense to not have a true number-one wide receiver. It puts the opposing defense on its heels. Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs will most likely see the field for the Packers this season.
They also have Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft at the tight end position. A season ago, Jordan Love completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 247 yards on 50 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Love is ready to take his game to the next level and maybe win an MVP Award.
