The Milwaukee Brewers won two out of three games in their last series against the Cincinnati Reds, and now they start up another three-game series this time with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Milwaukee led 2-0 after the top of the second inning but completely collapsed allowing five runs between the third and fourth inning which led to a 5-3.
With the loss, the Brewers are now 42-30. They lead the NL Central division by five and a half games. The Angels are 29-43. They are 13 games out of first place in the AL West division. Milwaukee certainly missed the play of their catcher William Contreras, who was involved in a massive collision at home plate in Sunday’s game against the Reds
Milwaukee Brewers Collapse in 5-3 Loss to the Angels

During the top of the second inning, Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers smashed a two-run home run to right field. Angels third baseman Luis Guillorme plated home a run after Brewers right fielder Sal Frelick made an error in the field. The next batter, Los Angeles first baseman Nolan Schanuel tied the game up by hitting an RBI single to right field. A few batters later, Angels left fielder Taylor Ward gave his team the lead by hitting a sacrifice fly to right field.
In the bottom of the fourth, Angels shortstop Zach Neto crushed a two-run home run to left field. A half inning later, Brewers second baseman Brice Turang hit a solo shot to right-center field cutting the Angels deficit to two. During the top of the seventh inning with runners on second and third, Angels reliever Luis Garcia escaped a jam by striking out Brice Turang. Milwaukee would not be able to score and produce any more runs in this game, as they would take a 5-3 loss.

Milwaukee Must Win Their Next Two Games

The Milwaukee Brewers must win their two games against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Milwaukee will have a couple of tough series before we head into July. After this series, they’ll head to San Diego for a four-game series with the Padres. Then, the Brewers will go back home for a three-game series with the defending champion Texas Rangers. Finally, they’ll play division rivals, the Chicago Cubs to end the month of June.
