New Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell has made a splash this week for the 2023 recruiting class. He landed a total of four commits this week with two of them being former University of Cincinnati recruits. While recruiting for next year is important, Fickell is also planning for the future. Wisconsin has extended an offer to 8th-grade phenom QB Trent Seaborn.

Wisconsin Extends Offer To Trent Seaborn
Trent Seaborn is the no. 1 QB in the 2027 class. He just led Thompson High School to an Alabama Class 7A State Championship as an 8th grader. In the championship game, he threw for 524 yards and 6 touchdowns. It is no wonder that he has attracted the attention of many D1 programs. Luke Fickell is trying to get him to come to Madison. Wisconsin has officially extended an offer to him.
This Is What Luke Fickell Brings To Wisconsin
With all due respect to Jim Leonhard, there is no chance that Seaborn considers Wisconsin if he is the head coach. Fickell has earned a national reputation that allows him to make big swings. This is a swing for the fences. Seaborn will have offers from all of the top programs by the time he is through high school. He essentially will have his choice of any program he wants. The hope is that Fickell making an offer early establishes the relationship between him and Seaborn. So often recruits pick the school where they like the coach and that is what Wisconsin is hoping for.
It is wild that Wisconsin is making an offer to an 8th grader in Trent Seaborn. Luke Fickell is clearly not scared to swing for the fences in recruiting. There is a lot of time until 2027 but it will be interesting to see if Wisconsin can land this big recruit.
