The Wisconsin Basketball Recruiting staff has been searching for talent in the 2024 and 2025 classes as a local star continues to make a name for himself.
Zach Kinziger, a 2025 shooting guard from De Pere, Wisc., has had quite the offseason so far. The guard has stayed busy with travel basketball and starred for Team Herro in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). Kinziger has only been in contact with four schools so far, earning scholarships from two. After the way Kinziger has played this Spring, the Wisconsin Basketball Recruiting may officially offer the talented recruit.

During this current EYBL season, Zach Kinziger has averaged 17.3 points per game on 55.4% shooting from the floor. In 11 games, the shooting guard has made at least one three-point shot in every game. In nine of those games, Kinziger hit two or more three-point shots as he has continued to develop his outside scoring ability. Kinziger is shooting 56% from three-point range during this spring season, which continues to impress the Wisconsin basketball staff and Greg Gard.
Kinziger is an all-around guard with the ability to drive, shoot from range, and defend from anywhere on the court. The recruit dominated for his high school this past season with plenty of incredible performances. Kinziger was a leader for his team on both sides of the ball, with double-digit point games and also a three-block performance. What sets Kinziger apart is his ability to craft new shots and opportunities on the court. The shooting guard rarely takes the same shot twice and feels comfortable shooting from anywhere on the court. Kinziger has a deep array of moves and looks he throws against defenses.
While the guard still does not have an offer from Wisconsin Basketball Recruiting, coach Greg Gard has continued to get closer to the guard. Kinziger is not ranked in the 2025 class currently despite his strong showing and exceptional play. Wisconsin-Green Bay, Iowa, and Cal Poly have all contacted the recruit as well but have not shown strong interest yet. Kinziger still needs to develop his game fully before his recruitment grows. Until that happens, Coach Gard should be close by watching Kinziger continue to grow.
Can Coach Greg Gard, Wisconsin Basketball Land the In-State Recruit?

Zach Kinziger is still incredibly raw as a prospect and a player, but that does not mean it is too early for Wisconsin Basketball Recruiting to draw up an offer. For the staff and Coach Gard, offering Kinziger would be a step in the right direction for the team due to his demeanor. Kinziger is an electric player, much like Sophomore Connor Essegian, which could make the recruit the perfect fit for the Wisconsin basketball team.
If Zach Kinziger continues to play the way he does, the Wisconsin Badgers Recruiting staff will certainly become more involved in no time.
