The Wisconsin basketball staff is set to host 2025 four-star recruit EJ Walker during their clash against #9 Tennessee.
Walker, a four-star forward in the 2025 recruiting class, has been one of the Badgers primary targets. The 6-foot-8-inch small forward is a versatile scorer with a knack for swatting shots away on defense. Wisconsin could certainly impress the recruit with an upset victory over the Volunteers.
Wisconsin Basketball Hosts 2025 SF EJ Walker During Volunteers Clash
The Wisconsin basketball team is already off to a hot start after dropping triple-digit points against Arkansas State. Wisconsin had four players score double-digits as the team racked up 17 assists on the night. The Badgers seem primed to play great basketball, but first they will have to face a great opponent.
The #9 Tennessee Volunteers are set to visit Madison as they attempt to take-down the Badgers in the Kohl Center. Tennessee won 23 regular season games a year ago before making an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen during March.
Tennessee is lead this season by guard Dalton Knecht, a transfer from Northern Colorado who averaged 20.2 points per game last season. EJ Walker will be making his first official Madison visit while the Badgers attempt to slow down Knecht.
Walker, a native of Kentucky, is currently ranked as the second overall player in his state. Walker is also the 25th ranked forward in the 2025 class, which could provide a solid boost to the Wisconsin basketball recruiting class.
Can Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Upset Tennessee Volunteers With Star Recruit in Attendance?
The Wisconsin basketball team will have arguably their toughest test this Friday when the Volunteers visit Madison. The experienced Tennessee team plans to make it back to the NCAA Tournament is dominant fashion much like they did a year ago. For both teams, this game could potentially define their season.
For Wisconsin Badgers basketball, a win over a top-ranked team could be just what the team needs morale wise. Wisconsin was excluded from the NCAA basketball rankings, but could find themselves within the rankings after a handful of impressive wins.
A win for Wisconsin basketball could also help with their lofty recruiting goals. Coach Greg Gard and the rest of the staff are eager to bring in top level talent to Madison. With the right wins and success, Gard can certainly do so starting with Walker.
