The Badgers are off to a blistering start, winning all five of their matches this season. All but one of those matches came against ranked teams.
They came into the season ranked number two in the same AVCA rankings. The Badgers’ opening weekend would quickly change the narrative and have them take over the top spot from the Texas Longhorns. They took both games against Baylor, ranked number 15 at the time, and TCU during the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge.
With the Longhorns dropping their first match, the Badgers were primed to take the top spot in the AVCA polls and haven’t relinquished it for the second straight week.
The Badgers have taken on No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks, who were previously ranked No. 21, had a back-and-forth match in their first of two. However, it was all Badgers volleyball in the second match, as they swept the match from the Razorbacks before heading home against Tennesee.
Newly minted No. 18 Tennesee, up from No. 24, proved to be a bit of a challenge for the Wisconsin Badgers. However, they were able to down the Vols 3-2 and avoided the upset.
The Badgers volleyball club stays home this week and takes on a pair of unranked teams in Arizona and Miami on Thursday and Friday.
See you at the Field House soon!
