The Wisconsin Badgers fell out of the AP Top 25 poll on Monday and they will look to get back into that conversation on Tuesday night when they face the Maryland Terrapins at home. Tipoff for this contest will begin at 8 p.m. CT.
The Badgers have struggled on the road as of late, but they have looked much better at home. Wisconsin played their last game on Saturday on the road against the Iowa Hawkeyes and they lost that game 88-86. Greg Gard will need to make sure his team does home cooking-against the Maryland Terrapins.
Four players for Wisconsin scored in double figures against Iowa. Steven Crowl led the way with 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists. AJ Storr scored 21 points, Chucky Hepburn scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Tyler Wahl also added 10 points for the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Badgers have a 17-9 record and a 9-6 BIG10 Conference record this season. Wisconsin is currently in a three-way tie for third place in the conference with the Northwestern Wildcats and the Michigan State Spartans.
Players to Watch For on the Maryland Terrapins Against the Wisconsin Badgers
Kevin Willard, the head coach of Maryland is looking for his team to steal a win on the road in BIG10 Conference play. The Terrapins were an NCAA Tournament team a season ago, but this season is much different. They have a 14-12 overall record this season and the Maryland Terrapins are tied for 11th in the conference with the Penn State Nittany Lions with a 6-9 conference record.
In the last game Maryland played, they lost at home on Saturday against the #12 Illinois Fighting Illini by a final score of 85-80. Three players scored in double figures for the Terrapins. Jahmir Young led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Julian Reese scored 18 points and Donta Scott also scored 17 points for the Maryland Terrapins. This feels like a game that Wisconsin should win at home against Maryland, but this feels like a game that could go either way. The Badgers need to keep the gas pedal going for the entire game against the Maryland Terrapins. It should be like a 60-44 win for Wisconsin over Maryland, but it is going to feel much closer than that.
