Nebraska Cornhuskers fans are still not forgetting guard Chucky Hepburn’s decision to play for the Wisconsin Badgers over their school. It’s easy to tell that with how Cornhuskers supporters reacted every time the Badgers star got the leather in Thursday night’s showdown in Lincoln between the Big Ten rivals.

Wisconsin’s Hepburn, playing 50 miles from his hometown of Omaha, was met with boos each time he touched the ball. Hepburn had strongly considered Nebraska, but picked the Badgers after the Huskers fired Tim Miles in 2019.
Before committing to and enrolling at Wisconsin in 2021, Hepburn got offers from the likes of the Cornhuskers, Minnesota Golden Gophers, and the Creighton Bluejays.
Nebraska Score Huge Payback Against Wisconsin Badgers
At the end of the day, it was still Nebraska that got the last laugh, as the Cornhuskers erased a 19-point first-half deficit and turned it into an 80-72 overtime victory over the No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers. It was sweet revenge for Nebraska, which lost to the Badgers in Madison on Jan. 6.
The win over Wisconsin was a huge one for the Cornhuskers, as it certainly boosts the team’s chances of getting a March Madness nod on Selection Sunday. Nebraska is now 2-2 against Top 25 teams in the nation and 3-3 in Quadrant 1 contests.
