The Wisconsin Badgers basketball season has not gone as many thought it would. After a hot start, the Badgers had trouble putting wins on the board. The exclamation point of the season was an embarrassing loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament. There was some question about whether the Badgers would accept an invite to the NIT but it seems like if invited, they will play.
Would appear #Badgers are prepared to accept a NIT bid if it comes to it.
UW says media availability will be following either the NCAA Tournament selection show or NIT selection show tomorrow.

Wisconsin Badgers Basketball NIT
The University of Wisconsin announced that following the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday or the NIT selection show on Monday, there will be media availability. This seems to indicate that the Badgers would accept an invite if they were given one. Some teams prefer to skip the NIT but it seems Wisconsin will play. However, there is still a chance that Wisconsin sneaks into the NCAA tournament.

Could Wisconsin Make It?
There’s a chance albeit a slim one. If they do sneak in, it would be one of the last four teams in. It all depends on how the selection committee evaluates Wisconsin’s season versus some of the other teams on the bubble. The problem with the selection committee is they are subjective. A chunk of the committee could favor a team in the Big Ten that was full of good teams this season over a team from a weaker conference. The program will watch closely on Sunday night to see if they sneak in. Once they are in the tournament, who knows what can happen?
Regardless of what tournament they are in, the Badgers are making a smart decision by playing. Getting more reps for the younger players and trying to end the season on a high note is good for the players and the program.
