The Wisconsin Badgers basketball staff reached out to a certain 2025 recruit with a scholarship offer recently following his impressive season.
EJ Walker, a 6-foot-7-inch, 225-pound small forward from Lloyd Memorial High School in Kentucky. Walker is a talented ball-handler and his frame allows him to make certain plays look effortless. The rising Junior still has plenty of time to continue to develop his game while his recruitment remains open.
Wisconsin Badgers Basketball: EJ Walker Impressing Recruiting Staff
After finishing his Sophomore season, Walker received multiple offers and now holds 13 scholarship offers. Currently, ten other schools have been in contact with Walker as well, but none of them have offered the forward a scholarship yet. As he continues to speak to other schools and distribute his film, Walker will likely double his scholarship offers before the end of the year.
Walker holds offers from Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, and Purdue. The Boilermakers have been atop the list for Walker as of late since they are the first major program to recruit the prospect. Walker is an impressive small forward with an array of moves both inside the paint and out in the perimeter. His length and frame allow him to move past most defenders with ease due to his long strides.
The small forward is also a fantastic shooter from outside and regularly pulls up at the top of the arc for his shots. While Walker has plenty of talent on offense, his is also an extremely capable defender that can cover tons of ground. In his highlight reels, Walker often chases down the offense for vicious blocks from behind.
How Would EJ Walker Fit Into The Wisconsin Badgers Team?
Head coach Greg Gard has been intrigued by the talented small forward since he began recruiting him during this past season. With his ability on both sides of the ball, Walker could fit into the Badgers squad perfectly as a strong slashing small forward.
