Will the Milwaukee Brewers Trade Corbin Burnes?

Milwaukee Brewers’ Corbin Burnes could be one of those starting pitchers dealt at the MLB trade deadline if things continue to go south. Milwaukee made a trade last summer before the deadline that involved closer Josh Hader. Burnes could be a target to help a contender at the MLB trade deadline this summer.

Will the Milwaukee Brewers Trade Corbin Burnes?

Burnes has been one of the Milwaukee Brewers’ better pitchers this season, and they could get a decent return for him, depending on which team he gets traded to. Burnes will have arbitration for 2024 before becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2024 season.

So far this season, he has pitched in 14 games and has a 5-4 record with a 3.44 ERA. Corbin Burnes has pitched in 83.2 innings and has given up 63 hits and 36 runs, along with 29 walks and 83 strikeouts.

The other question is, who are some of the other contenders that could trade for him?

    Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are currently in one of the wild card spots in the American League. Baltimore is very good offensively, but they can use another starting pitcher. The Orioles have one of the best prospect pools in baseball and can give some studs to the Milwaukee Brewers for Corbin Burnes.

    Houston Astros

Every single year, the Houston Astros are making a splash for someone at the MLB trade deadline. Houston has won the American League pennant in four of the last six seasons, winning two World Series to show for it. The Astros acquiring Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers would make their starting rotation even scarier.

    Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of those teams that feel like they can never have enough starting pitching. It would be interesting to see if the Milwaukee Brewers would do business with them because they’re in the National League. However, Milwaukee can’t hang up the phone because the Dodgers would have solid prospects to offer for Corbin Burnes.

The verdict:  The Milwaukee Brewers would love to hang onto Corbin Burnes, but it is very possible they will have to trade him at the MLB trade deadline to a team like the Baltimore Orioles.
