The Final game of the WIAA State Baseball tournament wrapped this week. The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes came out on top of the Hortonville Polar Bears by a score of 5-1. Whitefish Bay went up early 1-0, but then Hortonville came back with a run. After that point it turned to Whitefish Bay and they scored all the runs they needed in the top of the 2nd by putting up a four spot in that inning. J.D Dix (Whitefish Bay, 2024) and an Alabama commit led the Blue Dukes on the hitting side of things this evening by recording two hits and drove home one run as well. Ben Van Bell, Jack Wright and Austin Weinke both had RBI’s as well tonight. Pitching tonight for Whitefish Bay was Tyler Andrews who threw 6.2 Innings and Charlie McIntyre the freshmen who threw the final out of the game.
This season the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes finished with a 22-7 overall record, they tied in a four way race in the North Shore Conference with Grafton, West Bend East and West Bend West. This year J.D Dix (.452), Charlie McIntyre (.436), Austin Weinke (.423) led Whitefish Bay on the hitting side of things by recording really high batting averages throughout the season. On the pitching side of things Tyler Andrews (1.56 ERA), Charlie McIntyre (2.43 ERA) and Gavin Farnsworth (2.83 ERA) led Whitefish Bay with outstanding pitching efforts and great numbers.
