Brett Favre is definitely one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever take the field for the Green Bay Packers. However, his off the field antics and the controversy that has surrounded him in retirement have made him a pariah to many fans and NFL circles. His sexual harassment scandal tarnish his reputation as a person. Additionally, his involvement in a welfare scandal in Mississippi indicates that he is also a criminal. On ESPN’s Around the Horn, NFL analyst Mina Kimes went off of Favre and what is left of his legacy as a football player.
What Brett Favre did wasn't just stupid–it was cruel. And it tarnishes a legacy that, quite frankly, already should've been diminished. pic.twitter.com/GfZuLkXnUg

Brett Favre Has Been Stealing from the State of Mississippi for Years
For those that may not be aware, Brett Favre is in hot water after text messages were uncovered that connect him to a the misappropriation of welfare funds in the state of Mississippi. Basically, $5 million that should have gone to the poorest resident of the poorest state in the United States was diverted. The reason was Favre wanted to build a new volleyball arena at the University of Southern Mississippi. Favre’s daughter plays on the team.

Of course, this is not the only scandal that Favre is connected to in his home state. Earlier this year, he and former governor Phil Bryant conspired to steal $1.7 million of the state’s welfare funds to start up the pharmaceutical company Prevacus. Favre also reportedly was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the state for speaking engagements that he never made.
According to various sources, Brett Favre is worth $110 million. The money he is being accused of stealing totals no more than $8 million. Are we to believe he could not afford to do these things himself? Shame on him.
