Tiki Barber of WFAN made a very bold statement about New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones on Wednesday, heading into Sunday night’s matchup at home against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. Prescott is 10-0 in his NFL career against the Giants, and Jones has yet to beat Dallas but will look to finally do so on Sunday night.
Barber’s bold statement about Daniel Jones on WFAN on Wednesday was as follows:
“I’ll take Daniel Jones over Dak Prescott 100 out of 100 times, and I think most people would agree with me. Based on the projection of where both of these players are going. A lot of that in that system…because of his youth, his athleticism, and the system he is in.”
Daniel Jones revived his career a season ago under first-year head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. Jones hopes to be better in his second season with them, even though he limited his turnovers a season ago. He just needs to be more productive with more weapons around him now.
As for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, they fired Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator in the offseason. Moore is the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers and will do wonders with Justin Herbert. Prescott, a season ago, was tied for the most interceptions in the league last season with 15.
There were tons of videos of him during training camp throwing interceptions, so we will see if that continues in game-live action this season. Mike McCarthy will most likely be calling the plays this season for Dallas, and he did that for quite some time when he was the head coach with the Green Bay Packers years ago.
Tiki Barber is also questioning how Dallas will operate offensively this season. He also said on WFAN:
“I have serious questions about what the Cowboys are gonna do system wise. Mike McCarthy is gonna be calling plays. I know there’s an up and down resume with that, whether it was really good when he won a championship in Green Bay, or when it was really bad and he handed over the plays to Edgar Bennett. As crazy as it sounds, I have no idea who Dak Prescott is going to be, and I know who Daniel Jones is going to be, and I do know there is only growth ahead of him.”
Tiki Barber’s Statements About Daniel Jones Are Off the Wall
There is nothing wrong with just being passionate about the upcoming season with Daniel Jones and the New York Giants. Tiki Barber is showing a ton of bias with Daniel Jones over Dak Prescott 100-out-of-100 times. Prescott has owned the Giants, and Jones needs to beat the Cowboys before we can say that.
Yes, there are several questions to be answered about Prescott’s game, that can not be denied. However, Dak Prescott has had better seasons so far than Daniel Jones has. Until Jones has another great season and beats Dallas, this statement is just pure nonsense.
