Packers Fans are Excited to See their New QB in Action
Jordan Love is 24 years old. So it stands to reason that throughout the season he will have some crazy, fun things to say. He’s 24. It is hard to be really put together at just 24.
His odd comments on Father’s Day about the Bears were somewhat strange and immature. (Article Link Below)

Still, some his most recent comments were pretty measured:
“I think we’ve got playmakers on offense. I think all the weapons we have at receiver, tight end and running back, we’ve got guys who can make plays. … I think once everybody gets rolling, gets comfortable with the offense and being where they need to be every play, the sky’s the limit for us.”
In Love’s words to the media he seems to be saying all the right things and hitting all the right notes. Based-off his history, it would be strange to expect anything less. His Father’s Day comments may relate to a tragedy he experienced when he was just 14. Still processing that: maybe.
In looking more at Jordan Love, who he is now and who he might be, what can Packer fans expect? What is it about the challenges and adversity he has overcome that should give Packer fans a renewed sense of faith.
Love at Utah State and High School
Love went through an unbelievable tragedy at the age of 14 when his father passed away. The son of Orbin and Anna Love, Jordan lost his father at the age of 14, but he kept going and grew in stature, eventually becoming a star at Liberty High School in Bakersfield in Southern California. Like many high schoolers Love had a big growth spurt that got him to his 6’4″ height that he is at now. That certainly helped his performance on the field.
Jordan Love was the first player in Utah State University’s history drafted in the first round. That alone is a pretty cool lifetime accomplishment. Love went through a few different coaching changes while he played but one thing remained constant, everyone around him felt his arm strength was a “God-Given talent.” It was that arm strength that caught the Packers attention to have the trade up to get him.
That strength appeared evident in his brief showing against the Eagles in the 2022 season.
Love also finishes what he starts. Love has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah State in Exercise Science. He was able to graduate early.
Even though Love went through this tragedy at the age of 14 after his father’s death, he still graduated from college, was drafted and has persevered. Of course, just like California quarterback star Aaron Rodgers, the Packers hope this new California kid can have even half that success.

So for now in the next 40 days between mini-camp and the actual training camp, Packer fans will have to wait and wonder. Being the professional he is, Love will most likely work on conditioning and take whatever advice and guidance the Packers have to offer.
The Packers face off against the Bears in week one, Sunday September 10 at 3:25 in Chicago. That game will do a lot to see if Packers QB Jordan Love can keep up with Bears Quarterback Justin Fields. Interestingly enough both Love and Fields are the same age (24 years old).
Also, both Love and Fields had father’s who were police officers.
And interestingly enough, both of the quarterbacks now have the keys to their respective franchises for the foreseeable future.
