An Aaron Rodgers trade to the Jets could involve QB
An Aaron Rodgers trade is a real possibility. Rodgers’ future is unclear in late January. The Green Bay Packers and Rodgers are having discussions as they sort out their plans for the 2023 season. Rodgers’ name has been linked to the New York Jets as a possible trade destination. One Packers insider suggested that move could spark a quarterback battle in Green Bay this offseason.
Rodgers appears to want to play with the Packers next year. However, the Packers are dealing with limited cap space this offseason. They might be unable to sign all of the players that Rodgers wants to stay in Green Bay. The Packers might even decide it’s in the team’s best interest to rebuild the roster for the future. If that happens, Rodgers would likely ask for a trade.
The Jets are the perfect trade partner for the Packers. They’re a team with talented pieces but think they are a quarterback away from having playoff success. The Zach Wilson experiment didn’t work out in New York. And the Jets appear to want to move on after just two seasons. Rodgers could be just what the Jets are looking for.
Could Wilson come to Green Bay?
Packers insider Kris Burke suggested on Twitter that Wilson could come to Green Bay in a trade package that sends Rodgers to New York. Burke asked, almost half-jokingly, if Packers fans and the media were ready for Jordan Love to have a quarterback batter with Wilson.
Zach Wilson very well could be part of a trade package for Aaron Rodgers. Are we ready for a Wilson vs Love camp battle?

One wouldn’t think there’d be much of a battle. Wilson had talent around him with the Jets and looked terrible as a starter for much of this season. Love has shown in his limited play with the Packers that he can be an efficient quarterback. However, offseasons always bring unexpected surprises.
It’s possible Wilson could improve well enough under head coach Matt LaFleur that there could be a serious battle. Either way, Packers fans should want Love to have competition in order to elevate his game as a starter.
