Joe Barry’s defense blew a big lead in London
The Green Bay Packers had a good chance to leave London with a 4-1 record. Up 17-3 in the first half, the Packers just needed to finish against a New York Giants team with a hobbled starting quarterback. No dice. In the Second half, the Packers’ allowed 17 unanswered points as they lost 27-22 to the 4-1 Giants. Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry was roasted after the game by the media and fans.
The frustrations for the Packers are obvious. This year’s defense was supposed to be an elite group. Five games into the season, the Packers unit appears to be regressing as the weeks go by. The Packers’ defense allowed a stiff Daniel Jones to throw for over 200 yards and run for 37 more. Giants running back Saquan Barkley made big plays against the Packers. The Giants ran for 125 yards. Barry didn’t seem to have an answer.
Packers’ defensive tackle is not a fan of the preparation
Packers defensive lineman T.J. Slaton sounded off what went wrong with the defense following the game. It reads as a subtle shot at Joe Barry. According to Ryan Wood with USA Today, Slaton said the team didn’t make adjustments when the Giants’ game plan didn’t match the Packers’ preparation:
“I think we were a little too dialed in at times with the plan and what we practiced. We knew what we were going to see, and I think we were just getting a little lost. We were getting a little lost when we didn’t see what we were practicing.”
TJ Slaton on #Packers defense: "I think we were a little too dialed in at times with the plan and what we practiced. We knew what we were going to see, and I think we were just getting a little lost. We were getting a little lost when we didn’t see what we were practicing."

TJ Slaton said the biggest surprise today was how often Giants called bootlegs with Daniel Jones. It's something #Packers knew was part of the Giants offense, but they just didn't stop. Once Brian Daboll saw Packers couldn't defend it, he kept calling it. Packers never adjusted.

Yikes. That’s rough to hear from a member of the defense. The Packers will have to rebound quickly after their defeat. The 3-2 Packers will be home against the suddenly hot New York Jets. The Jets put up 40 points on the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. Barry will need to work with the defense on how to be flexible in games. He needs to ensure the defense can be in the correct position to make plays when the offense comes out and surprises them. It’s the NFL. Good offensive coordinators try and throw a defense off. Elite or not.

Joe Barry isn’t bright enough to be capable of the flexibility needed during the course of a game. It appears that he gets confused and simply is unable to adjust.
Joe Barry always blabbers on and on trying to explain things. He knows it all,I cannot listen to the man boring as all heck. he was Detroit Lion’s Defensive coordinator when they went 0-16.
