For a team with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and a top ten defense, questions remain as to who will be among the breakout players for the Green Bay Packers this season, specifically offensively.
Offense
With the trade of Davante Adams this offseason, the offense is clearly the biggest question mark. There are some bright spots with running back Aaron Jones and tight end Robert Tonyan. However, Tonyan is coming off a torn ACL. Who will step up and be breakout players? I have some ideas.
Breakout Player #1
First and foremost, I believe Romeo Doubs, the talented fourth round pick from the University of Nevada will be a breakout player this year. Scouts say he has the ability to accelerate on go routes and has amazing awareness for where sideline boundaries are.
Breakout Player #2
The next player that Packer fans should keep their eye on: tight end Tyler Davis. As previously mentioned, Tonyan is coming off an ACL injury and it is uncertain as to how quickly he can get into game shape, and on top of that Marcedes Lewis is in his 17th season.
Davis last season did not play a lot but expect that to change. With the Packers philosophy changing offensively to a run-based scheme and shorter passing game, I believe Aaron Rodgers will use his tight ends more often and that includes Davis.
Breakout Player #3
The last guy that will be a breakout player this year is rookie receiver Christian Watson.
Even though he recently missed part of training camp due to knee surgery earlier this off-season, he is now ready to get to work with Aaron Rodgers. “I’m trying to learn everything from him”. I am hopeful for big things from him as the season progresses.
"We're gonna need those guys."

Final Thoughts
While there will be some bumps along the way, the Packers will hit their stride come November, December and hopefully January.
