The Las Vegas Raiders are playing a dangerous game with one of their best offensive weapons this offseason. The Raiders have spent much capital improving their offense this offseason. The Raiders added quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to pair with wide receiver Davante Adams.
With running back Josh Jacobs in the backfield, the Raiders could have a scary offense. However, Jacobs might not play with the Raiders until he gets a new deal. The Raiders gave Jacobs the franchise tag, but he never signed it.
NFL News: Josh Jacobs could sit out Las Vegas Raiders season

According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Jacobs might sit out training camp and the start of the season if he doesn’t get a new deal. Pelissero said on the Rich Eisen Show Tuesday that Jacobs probably wouldn’t show up before Week 2 of the season.
“One [situation] that nobody’s talking about is Josh Jacobs, at this point, if there’s not a long-term deal, I don’t anticipate Jacobs being there at the start of training camp, and I don’t know that he shows up Week 1.”

The Raiders have until July 17 to make a new deal with Jacobs before the franchise tag is the only deal for Jacobs this season. Jacobs would face no fine for not coming to training camp, as he hasn’t signed the tag. However, he would face a 1/17th fine on his $10.1 million tag salary for each game he sits out in the regular season.
Could this cause a Davante Adams trade?

If Jacobs sits out, watch Adams’ demeanor. There were rumors Adams might want out of the Raiders organization this offseason. There would only be more speculation about Adams’ desire to leave if the Raiders are missing the league’s most productive running back in 2022.
Would Adams want to come back to the Green Bay Packers? Unlikely, but the Packers are in the market for a veteran wide receiver. If the Packers show promise at the start of the season, Adams could be on the market for Green Bay before the trade deadline this year.
