The Green Bay Packers are getting experience with Alex McGough
McGough won the USFL MVP award this past season after throwing over 2,000 yards and running for another 400. He had a combined 25 touchdowns during the regular season.
The #Packers are working out Alex McGough. He seemed comfortable in moving around the pocket and was mobile enough to get out of a bad situation. Over 400 yds rushing in 2023 in the USFL. pic.twitter.com/MIEespnnua

McGough has NFL experience, as the Seattle Seahawks drafted him in the seventh round in 2018. He’s spent time with the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars as well.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur hinted that the team might look to bring in another veteran after OTAs. LaFleur wanted to keep the limited number of reps allotted during OTAs to Jordan Love, Danny Etling, and Sean Clifford. McGough would be quarterback number four at training camp.
The Packers have not yet announced a cut on the roster in order to clear the space to sign McGough. It’ll be interesting to see if Elting and Clifford will remain on the camp roster or if another position sees a player get cut.
