The Green Bay Packers have been missing the services of second-year wide receiver Christian Watson over their first two games of the season. The 24-year-old is still dealing with a hamstring injury which forced him to sit out Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, as well as last Sunday’s Week 2 loss against the Atlanta Falcons.
Right now, Watson’s status for Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints remains up in the air.
Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson Limited at Practice

The good news for Green Bay fans was that Watson was able to join his team in practice for the first time on Wednesday. He did not do much, though, and his limited participation speaks volumes of his current status heading into Sunday’s game.
Watson, the Packers‘ second-round pick from 2022, was hindered by his hamstring last season. There’s no denying that this young man has the potential to be a star for Green Bay, but he will need to work hard to remain healthy. Missing the first two games of the new season is obviously not a good start for the former North Dakota State standout.
Matt LaFleur Drops Ominous Update

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to the press after practice to discuss Watson’s injury status for their Week 3 matchup against the Saints. Unfortunately, the Green Bay shot-caller did not give us too much to work with:
“I think we’ll see how he responds tomorrow and have a better idea,” LaFleur said, via Bill Huber of Packer Central.

LaFleur had remained non-committal, which doesn’t really bode well for Watson making his season debut on Sunday. Then again, the Packers coach did say that Thursday’s practice will be integral in determining Watson’s status, so at this point, all hope is not lost.
