NBA news: The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to make a lot of noise this coming season, especially after they suffered a miserable first-round exit in the playoffs last term. The 2021 champs have kept their core group intact, allowing them to put forth one of the most formidable starting lineups in the entire NBA. Be that as it may, there is still one particular player who is seen as the “weakest link” in their starting five.
NBA News: Grayson Allen is Considered ‘Weakest Link’ on Bucks Starting Five

Before anything else, we have to set the premise. Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey recently came out with an article listing the “weakest link” in the starting five of all 30 NBA teams. For the Bucks, this happens to be Grayson Allen, who Bailey himself admits was listed on there by default. This is brought about by the fact that Milwaukee projects to have a starting five of Jrue Holiday, Allen, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokunmpo, and Brook Lopez.
Last season, in his second year with the team, Allen averaged 10.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 27.4 minutes per contest. He drained 2.0 triples per game on an efficient 39.9-percent clip, making him a very effective floor-spacer for the Bucks.
Allen has been in his fair share of controversies through the years, but there’s no denying that he brings a certain tenacity to the table for Milwaukee. Despite being the weak link among the starters, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard remains to be an undeniably integral part of their lineup.
NBA News: This is No Fault of Grayson Allen’s

Bailey was quick to come to Grayson Allen’s defense, stating that the 27-year-old is only on his list out of necessity. The author points out that in Allen’s case, being the weakest link is by no means his fault:
“He just happens to be surrounded by one of the best starting lineups in basketball. Holiday is a perennial All-Defense contender. Antetokounmpo is a mainstay in MVP debates. And if health permits, Middleton and Lopez could both push for All-Star nods this season,” Bailey wrote.
Whichever way you look at it, the Milwaukee Bucks still have one of the top, if not the very best starting five in the NBA in 2023-24.
