One of the biggest stories in baseball on Thursday was the Oakland Athletics playing against the Texas Rangers in the final game at the Oakland Coliseum. The Athletics won the game over the Rangers 3-2. It was a sold-out crowd and the Athletics have played there for 57 years. There were emotional fans at the game and they had every right to show that emotion towards it.

Earlier this MLB season, the Milwaukee Brewers were fortunate enough to play a three-game weekend against the Oakland Athletics on the road before the Coliseum closed up. Baseball without Oakland is never going to be the same.
Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland Athletics Fans and Others React To the Final Game At the Coliseum

There was no doubt that fans and others would respond to the Athletics playing its final game at the coliseum this season. Some feel like it is a disgrace that they are moving out of Oakland altogether. They will be playing in Sacramento for the next three seasons until they move to Las Vegas in 2028. This is what the fans said on Twitter:
Game 162.
This is how the Oakland Coliseum will be remembered. The magic of the East Bay on full display. The roar of the crowd backed by “Celebration” booming over the old speakers.
No matter what happens next, we’ll always miss these days. #Athletics pic.twitter.com/iE8MxNvkJY

I’ll be talking to my kids one day about the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics.
I feel old.

The Oakland A’s were killed by greed. Do not allow the people responsible for this to spin it any other way. John Fisher did not have to move this team. Major League Baseball and its owners did not need to be complicit in it. This was a choice. A wrong one. History will sneer.

There were a lot of fans on Twitter who were cursing out John Fisher, the Athletics owner. A lot of people feel like he should sell the team.
Milwaukee Brewers Face Athletics At Home In 2025

In 2025, the Athletics will face the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Brewers won’t face them in Sacramento, California. The Athletics will be the team name for the next three seasons when they play in California’s state capital.
Sutter Health Park is where Oakland will be playing its games for the next three seasons. It is home to the Sacramento River Cats of the San Francisco Giants. This is a sad day for baseball with the Athletics moving away from Oakland.
