The Milwaukee Brewers started a three-game series on Monday night against the surging defending champion Texas Rangers. During the first game, the Brewers looked motivated to win, and further their lead away from the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central division. They were able to take a 6-3 victory, and in game two of this series, Milwaukee pulled away with a sincere 3-1 win to claim the series.
Milwaukee is 47-33 after the win. They are five and a half games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central division. This Brewers team has been fantastic at home all season long and will look to keep that going as the all-star break approaches. For the Rangers, they are now 37-42, two games behind the second-place Houston Astros in the AL West division.
Milwaukee Brewers Sincere 3-1 Victory over the Defending Champion Texas Rangers

During the top of the first inning, Rangers third baseman Josh H. Smith hit a ground ball RBI single to center field to give Texas a quick and early lead. This would be the only run the Rangers scored all game long. A few innings later during the bottom of the third inning, Brewers right fielder Jackson Chourio bashed an RBI single to right field to tie the game up. Two innings later in the bottom of the fifth, Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz blasted his seventh home run of the season to left field.
Brewers Extend Lead and Take Win

The Brewers had an opportunity an inning later in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead. However, with two outs and the bases loaded, Rangers reliever Dane Dunning escaped the jam by getting Brewers catcher William Contreras out on a pop-up. In the bottom half of the seventh, Brewers designated hitter Rhys Hoskins hit an RBI ground ball single to left-center field. Texas nor Milwaukee wouldn’t score another run in this matchup, as the Brewers walked away with a huge 3-1 win.
